Tripodless Long Exposure

Sometimes when your just out with some friends and have your camera, but not on a photo shoot you might find your self with out a tripod. Like in the case of this photo, I was walking around this park in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and did not have a tripod. I knew getting a good shot of the scene was going to a challenge. I saw a nearby picnic table, and wah-la, a perfect (ok, maybe not perfect, but good enough) substitute for a tripod. I just set my camera down on the table, put on a 2nd timer and hit the shutter button. If you find your self in a situation like this, just take a look around and see what you can rest your camera on. 🙂
